I have seen just as many miracles and Gods marvelous work in peoples lives in churches where the pastor speaks in a normal voice as the years spent listening to preachers scream their lungs out with spit flying all over and faces so red you think they are going to have a stroke.
Just saying......

Absolutely not, I'm refering to real life changing deliverence power. Seems story always the same, church was on fire with miracles and wonders, drop standards then grow cold and anemic.

Re: Friends church droppped "standards"
Maybe people are brainwashed into believing that God's power is fueled upon their standards. They subconsciously think that the miracles stop because they dropped the standards.
The foundation of God's miracles is Jesus Christ, not standards. Belief that He died for our sins and His resurrection is the fuel, not standards.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Whose story? I've found those stories usually come from people who still want all women in skirts with uncut hair.

Re: Friends church droppped "standards"
I have witnessed more miracles, signs and wonders in the past year than I did in 35 plus years in legalism combined.

Re: Friends church droppped "standards"
Great point. That could be a reason why Paul declared legalism as a form of witchcraft. It is foolish to think God rewards a congregation with miracles, signs, and wonders because what people wear is important.
It is arrogance to believe God shows up supernaturally because He sees people in granny buns and denim skirts.
Dropping legalism from the equation produces stronger christians. It takes away the religious crutch and makes one more dependant on God.

Re: Friends church droppped "standards"
We have had better depend on grace, rather than in own human efforts. However true faith that does not produce Biblical works is death.
