What I'm trying to tell you is that Iraq will be a failed Islamic fundamentalist state in 15 years or less. We can't go around invading countries to spread OUR political values. Don't you fascist statists understand this??? The Saddam's government was failing. It would have fallen. We'd probably see some form of dictator rise to replace him... perhaps secular... perhaps Islamic... BUT we can work with a dictator in that region. The teaming masses of violence, riots, and Islamic radicalism will prove impossible to work with.
We'll revisit this at the end of the text Presidential term. We'll see if Iraq is a shining city on a hill, a wonderful example of Western Democracy importated to the Middle East... or a failed Islamic state. Time WILL prove me right. And the sad thing is... you know it but you won't admit it.
Turkey is a shining example that a countryncan be primarily Islamic and remain secular and be a functioning democracy. Time may prove you right about Iraq not being able to be a functioning democracy but we certainly gave Iraq a better shot at it than had we let the Saddam regime to continue down it's path of being a bloody and ruthless dictatorship. And then it would've turned into a civil war with retribution and more blood letting with many more innocent victims. I contend Iraq is far better off with America rescuing them from Saddam and giving them a shot at real freedom than a bloody coup. The mistake Obama made was not being able to negotiate leaving behind a stabilizing force of 10,000-15,000 troops like we did in South Korea and do to this day.

No way. THE foreign policy issue in the Bush Presidency was the Iraq War. It cannot be buried among a bunch of other generic, traditional, relatively inconsequential foreign policy issues that a majority of American leaders would agree on.
Obama followed the Bush plan and proposed "timeline" for withdrawl from Iraq. That's why it took so long and why Obama took a great deal of criticism form his supporters early because he didn't just yank the troops out when he took office. He followed the Bush withdrawl plan.
Obama has been just as much a Bush 2.0 as the left say Romney would be, but blinders to the "messiah" shield Obama from this fact.
Obama and Bush are the right and left hands of a fascist statist beast. The Republicans AND the DEMOCRATS have nearly wrecked this nation. A vote for either should be considered an act of treason against the Constitution of the United States.
Vote Libertarian!
A Libertarian can't win because Americans are stupid and follow politics like it's sports. They don't care about the Constitution. BUT... if you care about the Constitution... vote for Liberty... vote Libertarian even if a Libertarian can't win. Vote PRINCIPLES. Don't vote just to say you voted for a winner.
This post is Exhibit A why a Libertarian will never be elected president...
An act of treason? Really? Your aluminum foil hat must be on too tight...

LOL. Vote Libertarian! All the sin and vice you want, just pay the tax on it! Legalized cocaine and pot, prostitution on every corner, abortion on demand more so than even now. Live it up however you wish...just make sure the Fed gets a cut via taxation.
Let's go Ron Paul revolution. I'm siding with all the pot heads, college kidiots and hippy wannabes that love his ideas.

His stated foreign policy difference in regards to war was two-fold. The inherent belief that we should not have gone into Iraq like we did, and that we should not have neglected Afghanistan to do so. In addition to our obsession with Iraq, it was our simultaneous neglect of the parties that actually attacked us and continuously sought to attack us that was baffling. We were expending ourselves in Iraq at the expense of taking care of business in Afghanistan.
Either way, I strongly support your and Colin Powell's right to endorse or disagree with the President. I feel strongly that if you are giving your reasoning, noone should claim to read your heart and mind and ascribe to you their conclusions. I've got to run.

lol, and you call us stupid ?!? This thread is full of policy debate yet all you see is that we are following who ever wins ?
You even have the backwards mentality of a Libertarian. lol.

If CP left the Bush admin over anger about how things went down in Iraq, and yet supports Obama despite the fact that Obama has followed through on most of Bush's foreign policy decisions, played dumb when our embassies were under attack and has done nothing while China actively cyber attacks our networks (even hacking the FBI directors computer) then there must be another reason why he is doing so.
It may not be the fact that they share being black, but to say that couldn't be it would be foolish. CP may have hated Bush's Iraqi build up and execution, but he should be more upset with Obama's "let's pack up and get out of these places whether their own militaries are ready or not" mentality means he will be creating a region ripe for Jihadist picking. He already let Egypt fall into the hands of the Muslim brotherhood. He already allows Pakistan's new regime to thumb it's nose at us and hold hands with dangerous evil people.
If CP has less problem with those things than he did with GWB's removal of Saddam then CP is sadly an idiot instead of a man who disagrees with GWB on an Iraq decision.
The ends does not always justify the means.
The Iraq War is proof positive of this old saying.
Also, one Republican is saying that Obama followed through with Bush's foreign policy plan while the other Republican is criticizing Obama for his foreign policy decisions.
Sigh.
The truth is that Obama followed the will of the American people. By virtue of his election, he had to attempt to wind down our presence in Iraw because that is what America expected him to do.
He has continued our presence in Afghanistan until 2014 and I have read countless of my fellow Republicans calling for us to pull out sooner, while others are saying we should not pull out at all until the job is complete.
Sigh.

Leaving Afghanistan before they are REALLY ready to defend their country form those like AlQaeda and other groups means they will fall into the hands of jihadists. If that happens to Afghanistan and Iraq then it means all our troops who died there died in vain. They died fighting against terrorism and our commander in chief, whether Obama or Romney, pulled them and allowed those very terrorists to get the victory. I don't agree with Romney's "we'll be out by 2014" garbage either. Ryan was the one who was correct when he said we should only leave in 2014 IF the Afghan forces are trained and ready for us to turn over all ops to them.
Bush's plan was to step down our forces as the Iraq forces stepped up and met certain benchmarks until we could completely withdrawl. That is what Obama did.
Now germain I said that without questioning your mental intelligence. Think you can reply in kind or will you follow the example of your CIC?
When I was kid and I'd hear my Dad talk about white people, he would say that exact same phrase.
Sad.
My Dad has since evolved, changed, etc.
There seems to be a gowing "victim" mentality growing among white Republicans. More and more often, they are the ones playing the race card and blaming the "main stream media" for why everything isn't exactly the way they want it.
I guess this is just how humans deal with it when you perceive your opinions are marginalized and as a person, you feel ostracized from main stream America.
