If my memory serves me right, Ukraine swung with Germany during ww2 thus incurring the post ww2 wrath off Stalin. Extreme purges followed.
This Nazi mentality continues to be a part of Ukraine even today.
This is a old conflict that is unfolding, maybe similar to the southern states of the US anger that goes back to the Civil War defeat, of course only worse.
It appears that the current administration knows this and baited Putin into attacking.
They wanted this as it gives them a nice new War to play with.
This administration hates putin and is going to push for a regime change, putin is not favorable towards their agenda.

And do you know why? Because Stalin was deporting ethnic Ukrainians by the thousands to Siberia while sending more "loyal" Soviets to Ukraine by the thousands who were disproportionately represented by JEWS. Thus, many Ukrainians viewed the Germans as saviors and liberators, and wasted no time rounding up communist Jews after Soviet forces fled and handed them over to the arriving Germans. The regular German army were greeted as heroes for opening churches that Stalin had closed. But the arrival of the SS on the scene ended the love affair many Ukrainians had towards the Germans. Hitler had nothing but contempt for Ukrainians and actually resented their admiration of him. But as things began to unravel, Hitler changed his tune and called for mass Ukrainian and Russian enlistment in the German forces. Even after many SS atrocities, thousands of Russians and Ukrainians volunteered to fight for the Germans. And yes, a Nazi element remains in Ukraine to this day.

The greeting "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!" became an official slogan of Stepan Bandera's OUN-B in April 1941. During World War II, Ukrainian nationalists often used it in addition to a roman salute.

Vivek is symptomatic of the plague facing this nation on the conservative side. He is trying to find all the problems of a lack of God in our culture and thinking to fix it without the one true God! This is not going to fix the problem!
