No I NEVER attended RG's church, what I said was that my Church went down to RG's church just to hear Bro. Morton preach. I always attended JP's church in Prescott until three years ago in January. But I DO have family that attends RG's church and so I know a lot about it. Ask away......

I don't think I would say that I "Left" pentecost. I still believe the salvation message! That family that attends RG's church was friendly to us at first....and then a member of their church moved up to the North where we attended and thought we (our church) was loose or liberal (now that cracks me up, because we were in fact a hair away from being ultra con) and after that they were pretty stand offish to us. But my husbands Aunt their Grandmother lived down in Glendale for a short while, (mind you she is OLD time UPC) and she called my husband once while living there and said she was so upset that they (her grandkids) were attending RG's church! She said she could not believe the mindset of the folks there. Her words were "no one has a corner on heaven". She left shortly there after and moved back to her home state. My immediate family has passed away, Mom, my Uncle who was minister here in AZ, the only one left in AZ is my Aunt my uncle's wife and she treats me fine. I haven't left God, just an organization.
I think AZ is just kind of messed up as far as the UPC end of it. If I was somewhere else I would of probably just moved to a more moderate UPC church. But being in AZ has really ruined what my Husband thinks of the UPC, the stuff they did to him and the lies they said about him has really caused him to NOT ever want to go to a UPC church.

Thad,
I had a friend who considered moving to AZ last year to start a church. He went as far as to meet the board and get the aplication to start a new church.
THE FIRST FIVE QUESTIONS ON THE APPLICATION HAD TO DO WITH TV!!!!!!!!
1. Do you own a TV
2. Are you in favor of advertising/ministering on TV
3. Will you allow your church members to have TV
UGH, i can't remember the other two questions, I'll see if I can find a copy of the application, he emailed it to me.
Anyhow, the application did not ask WHY he wanted to start a church or anything similar to that until question number 7, lol.
When he met the board the first line of questioning was soley about TV and his views on holiness.
THEY EVEN ASKED HIM IF THE UPC WERE TO PASS THE RESOLUTION ALLOWING TV, WOULD HE START ADVERTISING ON TV...

I LOVE IT !!!!!!
That's AZ for ya right rosebud ??
CP, I don't think the application was worded like that when Hudson was in office. that changed when Abbott was in office - how long was he in office??? there was some type of upset that occured....anyhow, i think that Hogan is in office now - not sure what his leadership is like.
One thing is certain,AZ is a warzone!!!!

V Morton is a great Elder.
OBTW
Just because MEN still preach the WORD OF GOD doesn't mean that they cannot think.
Jn 3:5, and Acts 2:38 are still strongly preached it our circles
Holiness
Faith
Healing
Love
Joy
Peace
Fruits of the Spirit
Gifts of the Spirit
all are still BIBLICALLY preached in our circles

NM is a blast to hang out with. His wife was my dorm roomie at the old CLC campus. Good Lord, she had it bad for NM! They are a great couple. Wish I could see pics of their kids. Wonder how her brother's church is doing? He was class prez my first year at CLC.
MM is still in Stockton. We used to have git-ta-getherz over at Mark's 70's retro bachelor pad and play games and howl laughing about stuff and drink coffee made in his hillbilly stovetop coffee pot. He's married to FM and they have cute kids and still attend CLC. (I get the feeling the FM would really really love it if they could go to JB's church...don't tell him I posted this! LOL)

What churches have you gone to there? We're moving to the Mesa/Gilbert/Chandler area in a few short months.

I sure didn't mean any disrespect at all there, revrandy. I have only had opportunity to become personally acquainted with one of them and I guess I had a brain freeze there for a minute. I guess in the context of the question I thought he was asking about the one who preached. No offense intended...
PS - Glad to hear he's doing great too!
