That is my point about the whole Jacob tithe doctrine. Nowhere does the Bible say what you are saying. It is an argument from silence to say that God required a tithe because Jacob made a deal with God.
To my knowledge, God never took the deal. To say that He did would be once again, an argument from silence. But Jacob did return to his fathers house about twenty years later IIRC. So that is when he would have tithed, according to his vow. It’s a whole lot of assumptions is what this doctrine is. It’s possibly true but it is not verifiable. As I said.
Yes. We’ve been here before and I’m still waiting on you to provide evidence from scripture instead of guessing.
We already have plenty of false doctrine about tithing. It would not be wise to replace one made up doctrine with another. Maybe we should speak when the Bible speaks and maintain silence when it is silent. Or as the Bible advises, don’t add or subtract from God’s words.
