He really wanted the movement to be tolerant of each others positions. Be a diverse body. I think I have the message somewhere in my immense tape collection.

I don't remember ever seeing this in our old pictures but I do have pictures of my parents in which my mother wore what would be considered by most a jewlery.

I believe that the UPCI book called the "Winds of God" commented that their women all wore their best jewelry, as that was how they dressed up for church! It was not until later that the Holiness movement begin to catch on.

I do recall (in the 50's) that my mother had a jewelry box and she had beads...her term. Her comment was that they didn't wear them in Chicago where she used to live, but they did wear jewelry in this assembly.

The younger set (girls 5-11) in our local church and the surrounding churches had the matching birthstone necklace and bracelet sets. This is engraved in my mind because I wanted a set like that and my mother wouldn't buy it for me. (it was probably something boring like lack of money)
