I Need College Advice!

I started college at Virginia Tech in the Engineering program in 2005. I flunked every class except 1 that first year. I made a D- in it because a massive ices-storm exempt us all from its final.

I then enrolled in a local community college and did okay there. I ended up graduating there with around a 3.2 GPA. I really didn't put alot of effort in though. I turned many assignments in late. There were also assignments I never got turned in. I was also often late to class.

I then transferred to a different 4 year university. I started off making mostly B's and C's with an occasional A. Many of the same problems were to blame (late assignments, being late...)

This last year I have done much worse. Last spring should have been my last semester but I failed a few classes. Now I have to go a whole extra year (though it is for a total of 6 classes).

Any advice on how to turn things around this year? (And please be brutally honest!)

Get up and get to class and stop putting your assignments off.

Are you on campus or is this online?

Time discipline is critical so you aren't scattering to turn in late assignments. It's not easy. Especially if you are working full-time on top of that.

On campus, I commute 45 minutes 1 way and work part time as a tutor.

Do you have an assigned homework day or homework evenings?

That's where I'd start. One evening or a weekend half-day. That's your homework time. Guard it. You'll get more done.

Re: I Need College Advice!

One other thing I forgot to mention. Usually for about a month or so I am really on top of all my assignments and such.
