Leisure

What did Jesus and His disciples or even the people of His day do for their leisure? Did they have much leisure time?

No, the Gospels is a written minute-by-minute account of the lives of Jesus and His Disciples. Jesus only slept once - on the ship. The Disciples only slept while Jesus was praying.

Jesus ate with Mary, Martha, & Lazarus.
I wonder what the conversation was around the dinner table?

I was thinking that Peter, James and John probably didn't go fish'n for the sport of it.

I was just wondering if our modern day lives or any more busy then theirs, or if we have more leisure time then they did?

I have no big sneaky trap that I'm about to spring. Was just wondering.

With the industrialization of life, there is undoubtedly more leisure time than ever.
Who on this forum still goes to the creek to wash clothes against a rock and then allow them to dry in the sun?
How many of you have elctric garage door openers?
How about electric can openers?
Maybe your hot water is heated in a tank instead of outside in a tub?
Do you still go to the store or the doctor using a horse and buggy? (Amish don't count)

There are so many things that we take for granted that just did not exist back then that have made our lives much easier in regards to maintaining everyday things.
With that in mind, we must take care to not allow our leaisure to become more than just a break, but a way of life as some have.
It's called Laodecaeia.
