Tight budgets and rainy day money help churches survive tough times. Sometimes, the choices are tough. Not using the church copy machine can save a church 200 per month in ink cartridges. But seniors sure like their Sunday bulletin.

Tight budgets are never fun. But they do help a church focus on priorities.

Scott, I have a question for you or anyone else who wants to give their opinion. When a member gives money in the plate, regardless if it’s tithes or offerings, or whatever it’s called.

Did the church give the money?

Or did the church receive the money?

Please take your time and think it over.

I would say the church counted and deposited the money.

Individual members of the body donated to the corporate body. Sorta like Americans paying taxes to America.

A better analogy would be....Mary gives me my petty cash every week. Did she give it to me, or to our marriage ?

I’d say you answered your own question. “Mary gives me my petty cash every week.” It seems to me that you agree with me. Mary gave the petty cash to you. I don’t see where it’s a better analogy though.

Now try again. A member of the Church, puts money in the plate on Sunday.
