Death pods?

So, this just happened. Switzerland has approved the use of suicide pods (a.k.a. death pods), claiming they face no legal issues.

Quote:
Prototyped in the Netherlands by Dr. Philip Nitschke, the coffinlike Sarco capsule should be ready for operation in Switzerland in 2022, he told the outlet. While the Swiss assisted-dying sector's approach requires the ingestion of liquid sodium pentobarbital, Sarco can provide a peaceful death without using controlled substances, Swiss Info reported.

"The benefit for the person who uses it is that they don't have to get any permission, they don't need some special doctor to try and get a needle in, and they don't need to get difficult drugs to obtain," Nitschke said in a Sarco demonstration last year.

The capsule is activated from the inside and can be towed to a location that the person wishes to die in, such as an outdoor setting or the premises of an assisted-suicide organization, Nitschke told Swiss Info. Once activated, the capsule floods its interior with nitrogen and rapidly reduces oxygen, causing the person to lose consciousness and, ultimately, die without choking or panicking, he continued.
This world is rapidly circling the drain.

More like when I'm in the shop and running the truck with the garage door shut.

Re: Death pods?

Since some on this forum agree with capital punishment, do any of you agree with anyone that wishes to end their life by their own free will?

Terminating the life of someone who did great evil is different from taking your own life. The former is government exercising the powers that God established for it, to implement law and enact justice. The latter is thumbing your nose at God and saying, 'You don't get to decide when I die, I'm choosing for myself'.

Re: Death pods?

If someone was in extreme pain and suffering with an end stage terminal disease and wanted to stop treatment, and refrain from eating and drinking so as to not prolong life, I would not force feed them. But, I dont approve of assisted suicide.

Yeah. I get that. When the cooler isn’t properly vented walking in for just a few seconds can feel like you were kicked in the chest. Usually it’s like you’re breathing in thick air.
