It was brutal. On 11/5 I was hit with something so hard that all I could do was lay on the floor and vomit. I had no balance to walk. I couldn't focus my eyes to see. Eventually, after two days, I crawled on hands and knees to the living room to get my phone and call my Sister. When she got to me she wanted me to go to the hospital because I wasn't able to eat or drink. I didn't want to go. She got some ginger ale, broth, applesauce, and banana baby food and helped me to slowly start eating and drinking. Then made soup for me. It took me almost three weeks to feel strong enough to go to the grocery store by myself.
I'm just now feeling back to normal. Getting back into my routine. Strength training, mowing the lawn, doing what I need to do.
I was in a place of utter helplessness. My sister gave no thought for her own well being to nurse me back to health. It made me realize how precious she is. Also appreciating the value of health, strength, and independence, and the compassion we should show towards the vulnerable among us.
Also the value of knowing there are precious saints of God who will lift us up in prayer when we are brought low.
