Old Bible Versions

Has anyone here had an interest in pre-KJV Bibles such as the Wycliffe's New Testament, Tyndale's New Testament, Geneva Bible, and Bishop's Bible?

Re: Old Bible Versions

Yes, I have facsimiles (exact duplicates of originals, not modern reprints) of:

1388 Wycliffe New Testament

1526 Tyndale's New Testament

1537 Matthew's Bible

1560 and 1599 Geneva Bibles

1611 Edition of the KJV.

Most of these are available.

Yes! In fact, I referenced two of them [Tyndale and Geneva] this morning while pursuing a subject I'm studying. Very helpful! I don't have in possession either of these Bibles but the Internet makes them available which is great!

Re: Old Bible Versions

I have a 1611 KJV. It's interesting to note that it contains Apocryphal books and includes at least one cross reference in the NT to an Apocryphal OT book.
I think that is kinda funny for those who insist on using KJV only but don't use the Apocrypha.

I have a copy of the Geneva Bible but don't really read it much.

How do you get access to them?

I teach on the history of the Word in a new member class.

I agree with you, it's funny that the KJV only group don't use the 1611 Version.

I like the Geneva Bible. It's the one that come over on the Mayflower, not the KJV. I love the study notes in it... they are not influnced by despensationalism...
