Has anyone else read..............

The Shack ?? I am in the middle of it right now. Interesting book, but definately different!

It started out being sold from Christian bookstores, then it was pulled from their shelves and now it's back in the Christian bookstores.

Have you heard of it?

My wife read some of it, but found it offensive, and stopped.

There's much of it that I don't agree with, but I haven't found it offensive. Different........ Interesting....... But I'm not looking at it as "Gospel", so I'm not really offended.

But I can understand your wife's feelings. I've read books that I found offensive and stopped reading them also.

Re: Has anyone else read..............

Daniel had a thread on here not too long ago about it. I read it; wasn't really moved either way. After the things I had heard, I thought it was going to be earth shaking. Actually, I thought it was way too "trinitarian" in thought for me to go along with it. The Father (black woman), Son (hispanic man) and Holy Spirit (strange sparkly Asian woman) - all had separate thought processes and mannerisms. I just couldn't get into it at all.

I just finished it last night and thought it was quite good. A liitle hard to twist my mind around some of it but I still understood the purpose in it - to show the love of God for everyone and our need to have that same love without an agenda.
