Fun working for the public.

My wife and I both work retail and we encounter some doozies of situations dealing with the public. My wife works front end at Walmart and today she comes home and tells me that this guy who is always going around telling people that God has given him a great life comes through her line.

He starts twitching with tics saying how his parents died when he was two and he was raised by his grandmother who was a white witch. He tells her that he's 73. My wife comments that she is suprised and that he looks like he's in his early 50s*legit observation not trying to butter up a customer*.

He responds

*serious while still with the trembling and twitching*

that hes drawn life through others from spiritual vampirism and he admits to taking 2.4% from my wife and comments"You wont miss it"

*honestly from a completely outside perspective I could understand why somebody would be kinda impressed to not only possess this ability but to calculate its usage to the decimal point of precision*

He also expresses some kind of shame at revealing this and says that he understands she might feel some sort of way about it.

My wife responds that shes not hurt or offended in the least and that its ok but to be careful who he drew on because she has the HolyGhost and thats who she draws life from so hes not drawing from her, but hes drawing from the Lord.

So apparently he zipped the lip and beat a hasty retreat.

What say ye, brethren and sisteren?

Psychosis or Demon? 🤣

Re: Fun working for the public.

Preacher went through a Safeway up in Washington last year. He was with his son grabbing a Starbucks drink. A man walked up to him and starting telling bold face lies, people that were around were not fazed by this in the least, so you knew he was a regular. The preacher that usually would just brush this off, was starting to get annoyed, and he rebuked him in front of the store. As soon as that happened he began swearing, cursing God and the preacher, as they exited the store the man told him, “how dare you disrespect a lieutenant!”

Right after that they went to a car wash, in the middle of the car wash the entire business shut down. The preacher and his son were stuck in there, the employees were running around saying this has never happened before. The preacher laughed, rebuked the spirit in Jesus name, right then and there it started back.

It doesn’t stop there! They were riding the train going to see Seattle with another preacher and his family. The train stopped at a stop 4 miles away from their drop off, the train conductor said for everyone to get off. For some reason the rest of the train/s dropped off thousands of people, never giving an explanation.

…. So long answer short, it must’ve been M3TH.

Re: Fun working for the public.

Maybe a little bit of all. Mental illness, drugs, and demonic influence.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Fun working for the public.

I've been in the banking business for five years come October 2023. I've been a teller, in customer service, and even did some loans. There have been numerous times that customers (although my current bank prefers us to say "clients") have left me questioning my choice in jobs.

But, then again, there's some customers that are a complete joy. They are never a problem, understand the bank must stay in policy, and all that good stuff.

Dealing with the public and their money isn't ever easy. People can be jerks about it, and sometimes they do it at the drop of a hat.

I just look at how bad I would have to be struggling on the inside to behave like that and it grieves me.

Is there a difference?

But I digress...

Anton Lavey claimed to have coined the term/idea of psychic vampirism, so the person your wife met may have been a practitioner of Lavey's form of Satanism.
