Sounds like a cult to me. Controlled by a man and a few "important" people. I would run from a church like that. They see who can be the most strict and have the most standards whether they be Biblical or not. They are the "I am more holy than you" type. Just my opinion..

Sadly, they are quite cultish. I hate to even say that. What's bad is this church is big, has good facilities, and lots of people. If they had their heart in the right place, they could be very good for their community. They have a hard, strict, infatuation with Apostolic doctrine, and yet they cling to every new "strict" thing they can.

They cling to things just because it makes them different and have a stronger standard than the church down the road.

There are a few people at said church, however, that I believe genuinely love Jesus and have a heart full of love. For instance, they had a sister in their church pass away last weekend from cancer. She was a sweet, loving individual. But such a sweet, loving spirit is few and far between among their congregation.
