Re: Tina Ireland passed away

I didn't have much (if any) interaction with AK that I can recall, but I'll be praying for her family.

Re: Tina Ireland passed away

I think there was some kind of brain tumor but I didn't think it was cancer.
she had surgery, seemed to be getting better then .... she died.

Her husband's name is Rob. didn't know her or Rob well, outside of the internet... we did help them after Katrina a little bit. they lived in New Orleans.

Re: Tina Ireland passed away

Ferd, thanks for the heads up. Do you know when this happened? I sure hate to hear it.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Post-surgical complications after major surgeries are as big of a deal if sometimes not worse of a threat, than the actual surgery. For example: Clots, MRSA, and etc.

Her husband posted on FB that she passed away on Monday. She had surgery on her brain a week or so back? something like that. it didn't seem that this was a highly likely outcome. she was posting on FB post surgery then Rob said she was dying. so something happened... some kind of complication.

Pray for Rob (her husband) and James (her son)
I thought there was a daughter but I may be mistaken about that.

So incredibly sad. My thoughts and prayer are with Rob and James and all of her friends and family.

Re: Tina Ireland passed away

She found out mid March that she had liver cancer. She must have deteriorated very quickly. I only knew her through online forums and Facebook, mostly from the ordeal after Katrina.
