I understand that you cant believe everything the internet says. Yet, look at the characters he uses in his books, the enchantments he has in his books. He believed in astrology, the names in CON are real name of gods or spirits. He just didn’t make them up. He wrote other books under another name, that has been proven.
He believed in prayers for the dead, I’m sorry thats a big no no.
Maybe you agree with this quote,
“Good paganism makes for good Christians”.
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree, I just see Chronicles of Narnia the same way I see, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Harry Potter.

Source of that quote? Sorry. I’m not like you. I don’t read a quote and take it as gospel. Too many quotes falsely attributed to people for me to just accept them as true.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia-C.S. Lewis
Lewis thought his children's books would serve as a sort of catechism introducing them to Christianity.
That perspective on the Narnia books can be found in "Letter to children" that Lewis penned.
It may also be found in one of the biographies about C.S. Lewis.
Just for fun: Lewis and Tolkien were members of the same writing club called the Inklings.
I really like both authors.

My son and I have a half hour drive back home through the week when I pick him up from school, closest solid Christian school to us. He loves to listen to stories on Audible, and I thought that perhaps Chronicles of Narnia would be a good listen. I knew that Focus on the Family did a dramatized version of it some years ago. So far we have listed to 4 or 5 chapters, and I'm disturbed. I think we are going to find something else to listen to until I look a little deeper into its content. Anyone else familiar with the Chronicles or Lewis in general? I'm surprised that something so filled with magic and sorcery is so popular in Christian circles. Guess that shouldn't be so surprising...

I read all the books. Loved them
