The only song I can even think of that has that as part of the lyrics is...

When your back is to the wall, remember his was to the cross....

and I can't remember any of the rest of the song.

No it is not god rides on the water, and yes it was a man with a deep voice but I am drawing a blank, it has been a few years since I sang that particular song and I have forgotten the words

The only song that came to my mind was "When you're up against a wall and your mountain seems too tall"--Praise His Name. But that is obviously not it. But now that you've got this tune in your head you won't be able to think of the other one----sorry.
