Except that some of them have a strong view of the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues.

I know of three Holiness Baptist churches and they are all in Georgia. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they have any churches outside of Georgia, which is where I live.

Re: Holiness Baptists

I know some Apostolic people that call all Trinitarian Christians that dress modest and believe in speaking in tongues "Holiness Baptist". That just simply isn't the case.

There are other minority denominations that still hold to conservative outward standards. There's branches within the Assemblies of God, the Church of God, and Wesleyan Methodism that still uphold conservative dress, behavior, and conduct.

Re: Holiness Baptists

So apparently Southern Gospel singer Naomi Sego Reader was Holiness Baptist. I've been watching her videos with the Gaithers on YouTube.

You now, there was a time not to long ago that no TV was considered one of the Holiness standards. Well, needless to say that standard went out the window.

There was a time that no internet was a holiness standard. Now the preachers that were preaching against internet, are preaching on the internet.

Is it still a violation of the standards if I use a 56k modem?

Considering their denomination, however, they take the Wesleyan view on entire sanctification and believe in living a life of Holiness unto the Lord. Of course, not all self-identifying Holiness Baptists hold the same view or standard as to what Holiness is or is not.

Not all Holiness Baptists are receptive of the Holy Ghost as I understand it. There are some that are apparently had against speaking in tongues. Naturally, all of them are Trinitarian, but some of I've came across are hard against Jesus Name.

Yes, I know some personally. Actually some are family. Very dedicated and believe family is so important. And I think you summed it pretty right, Sparrow.
