Tell it in a song...

This is being posted here as opposed to the Music Forum because this is not your average music thread...this is testimony service with a different bend to it.

I was thinking today at work about this and wondered, if you had to give your testimony in a song, what would the song be?!

For me, there are many that would fit, but the first song that came to mind was written and recorded in the 70s by Sis. Nancy G...

satan had my eyes so blind
He lied to me so many times
Telling me that things were fine
Yet I had no peace of mind

Then one day someone talked to me
And told me I could really be free
That was the day that I met Jesus
And Jesus lited me

He lifted me...He lifted me
I'm so glad He lifted me
When no one else was there to help
Jesus lifted me

He lifted me...me lifted me
I'm so glad He lifted me
I was sinking in my misery
When Jesus lifted me

Now each day when I awake
I always think of a better place
Where the sun will always shine
Heartaches there we'll never find

Heaven means so much to me
But there's one Man I want to see
I'll lay my crown before His throne
And praise Him for the love He's shone

He lifted me...He lifted me
I'm so glad He lifted me
When no one else was there to help
Jesus lifted me

He lifted me...me lifted me
I'm so glad He lifted me
I was sinking in my misery
When Jesus lifted me

Can you tell it in a song?!

Here's my life: ("He's Been Faithful!")

Through Every Pain Every Tear
There's A God Who's Been Faithful To Me

When My Strength Was All Gone
When My Heart Had No Song
Still In Love He's Proved Faithful To Me

Every Word He's Promised Is True
What I Thought Was Impossible
I've Seen My God Do

He's Been Faithful
Faithful To Me
Looking Back He's Love And Mercy I See
Though In My Heart I Have Questioned
And Failed To Believe
He's Been Faithful, Faithful To Me

When My Heart Looked Away
The Many Times I Could Not Pray
Still My God Was Faithful To Me

The Days Are Spent So Selfishly
Reaching Out For What Pleased Me
Even Then God Was Faithful To Me

Every Time I Come Back To Him
He Is Waiting For Open Arms
And I See Once Again

He's Been Faithful
Faithful To Me
Looking Back He's Love And Mercy I See
Though In My Heart I Have Questioned
Even Failed To Believe
Yet He's Been Faithful, Faithful To Me

This is one I keep coming back to lately;

In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

Not sure if it's really a 'testimony' but it's the song of my life currently. . .

"In the middle of the turbulance surrounding you
These trying times that are so hard to endure
In the middle of what seems to be your darkest hour
Hold fast your heart and be assured. .

This too shall pass, like every night that's gone before it
He'll never give you more than you can bear
This too shall pass, so in this thought be comforted
It's in His hands, this too shall pass.

The Father knows the tears you cry before they fall
He feels your pain, His heart and yours are one
The Father know that sorrow's heavy chains are strong
But with His strength, you'll overcome.

This too shall pass, like every night that's gone before it
He'll never give you more than you can bear
This too shall pass, so in this thought be comforted
It's in His hands, this too shall pass.

So set your eyes upon the mountain
And lift your hands unto the sky
Let His arms of love surround you
And take you to the other shore.

This too shall pass, like every night that's gone before it
He'll never give you more than you can bear
This too shall pass, so in this thought be comforted
It's in His hands, this too shall pass.

Sis. Rhoni emailed me her testimony...

I was just a child, when I felt the Savior leading
I was drawn to what I could not understand
And for the cause of Christ, I have spent my days believing
That what He'd have me be, who I am

As I've come to see the weaker side of me
I realize His grace is what I'll need
When sin demanded justice for my soul

Mercy said no
I'm not going to let you go
I'm not going to let you slip away
You don't have to be afraid

Mercy said no
Sin will never take control
Life and death stood face to face
Darkness tried to steal my heart away
Thank You Jesus, Mercy said no

For God so loved the world that He sent His son to save us
From the cross He built a bridge to set us free
Oh, but deep within our hearts, there is still a war that rages
And makes a sacrifice so hard to see

As midnight fell upon the crucifixion day
The light of hope seemed oh so far away
As evil tried to stop redemption's flow

Mercy said no
I'm not going to let you go
I'm not going to let you slip away
You don't have to be afraid

Mercy said no
Sin will never take control
Life and death stood face to face
Darkness tried to steal my heart away
Thank You Jesus, Mercy said no

And now when heaven looks at me
It's through the blood of Jesus
Reminding me of one day long ago

Mercy said no
I'm not going to let you go
I'm not going to let you slip away
You don't have to be afraid

Mercy said no
Sin will never take control
Life and death stood face to face
Darkness tried to steal my heart away
Thank You Jesus, Mercy said no
