The Excluded Outer Court of Sin

The Outer Court Is Given Unto the Gentiles

Revelations 11:2
“But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.”

This passage of scripture brings to mind the middle wall of partition “so to speak”, that existed both in the temple and out and was a way of life under the law.
Of course the gentiles ( considered as dogs as far as the elections and promises of God were concerned) were brought in and made nigh by the blood of Christ.
The distinguishing factor of separation because of uncleanliness was not immediately accepted by the apostles. Even when considering the conversion of the household of Cornelius , Peter had to be dealt with “by God “ through visions just to go to the Gentiles. This conversion was not easily accepted of the Jewish brethren. With such a long history of being divided by a “middle wall of partition” , any reference to a “ place occupied by Gentiles” , ( especially in reference to spiritual location) is understood to be a place outside of the acceptable will of God as far as salvation is concerned. This brings us to the reference in Revelations.
- “But the court which is without the temple leave it out. For it is given unto the Gentiles to trod under foot”

1)Trod under foot- a term best explained by using the context that utilizes the term , such as the following;

Hebrews 10:26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace.

It can be summized that trodden under foot is synonymous with words like , desecrate, disregard, disrespect etc.

When considering the text,

Revelations 11:2
“But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.”

The court ( that is without the temple) is excluded from the measurement ( taken by John) of the temple of God.

God has always separated the holy from the unclean.
The unrighteous have no inheritance of heavenly things.

There are 2 spiritual roads one may walk in this life.
1. The Highway of Holiness-Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein
2. The Street of Sodom and Egypt ( spiritually) Revelation 11:8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified

It is of necessity that we be able to discern the spiritual position within which we dwell as distinguished by the actions of our lives.
Failure to discern or judge ourselves honestly will lead to the catastrophic demise of the soul.
This discernment of one’s spiritual position is also spoken of in the scriptures referencing communion. Various phrases referencing a comparison of what an acceptable life is or isn’t are given by the writer.
1)shew the lords death( we are claiming to have undergone the the same death as the Lord, the putting away of our sins in denying the flesh)
2)do in remembrance of me- we are professing that are life is a memorial unto the Lord and drinking of the cup says, We have examined ourselves and have found our lives to be void of those things outside of his will.

1 Corinthians 11:25-32
25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world

If you do well it will be by Christ who strengthens you and he will lead you on the “Highway of Holiness” , no sin is committed there.
When we sin it is that we have began to stumble down another path, even the street of Sodom and Egypt.

Americanized Christianity professes that, you can have sin in your life and be saved by Grace at the same time. It’s a doctrine that is about as far from the truth as one can stray.
The things that are presently taking place in America and around the world, are an indication that God has instructed his Church to make the measurement and to leave out those unclean and unholy things and places ( occupied by the fleshly sinful lists of man) . It is clear God is allowing mankind to destroy themselves in sin ( it is given unto the Gentiles to trod under foot)
until the wrath of God and why , once again
( God Gave Them)

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful
