I think this is the intent of those stating that they have a public safety exemption. I doubt they are claiming a public safety exemption from reading them rights that they still have... it seems to me that an exemption would be claimed concerning having the rights at all.

I guess delayed is better than denied... but all answers given before the Miranda reading might end up not being admissible. The laws exist for a reason.

Citizens have constitutional protections no matter what they have done. We can never allow the loss of rights for anyone. Once we do, we all lose our rights.

Perhaps it would be better to call a press conference and let everyone know he is being released and let everyone know where and when he is being released.

Unless of course he pleads guilty immediately and has actionable information that could help protect the lives of others...

In the 1980's a nazi war criminal was found and he lost his citizenship. He was a Ukrainian guard at a camp. he lied when he came to this country and did not tell the truth of his actions. So, you can lose your citizenship.

Citizens that fight for a foreign enemy loses that protection. Also citizens that are incarcerated and or felens lose some rights
