Where was C.H. Yadon from?

More specifically, where was he pastoring in 1992 when the infamous affirmation resolution was passed?

Not sure if he was pastoring at that time but it would have most likely been Idaho. Sabby or Dealtre would know more about him then most anyone on here.

Re: Where was C.H. Yadon from?

I don't remember C.H. Yadon pastoring a church that late in his life. My guess is he was probably living in Caldwell, Idaho and attending Valley Pentecostal Church pastored by his son-in-law Norman Rutzen. He died in Caldwell in 1997 but was buried at Twin Falls, Idaho in the same cemetery as his parents, Frank & Hattie Yadon, made famous in the book Unto You and Your Children. His folks had a place in the old days near there. Here is his grave:

You may be thinking of Loren Yadon his son. I believe he might have been teaching at CLC in 1992? Last I heard he was pastoring in Idaho. LY is as wonderful a man as you would ever find. wonderful wonderful people.

If I remember correctly, Loren Yadon is C.H. Yadon's nephew. C.H. and Ruth Yadon had at least three daughters, Jewel Dillon, Ruby Rutzen, and Sharon Roam. I think Bud Yadon was their son and they also had a son named Sam Yadon who became a Mormon. Their third son was Haskell Dale Yadon, aka Hack Yadon who was a missionary to South America for many years.

You are right about Loren Yadon...a wonderful person.

EDIT: I found C.H. Yadon's brother Paul Yadon's obituary. It states that Loren Yadon is his son.

Paul Yadon was a student at the Harry Morse Bible school from 1930-1934.

I don't have an answer to your specific question but he was a guest teacher at the UPC Bible College I attended around 1978 or so and he was quite old then so I can't imagine him pastoring a church 14 years later.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
