Doors to open
I am not one to ask for prayer, (unless I'm talking to my mom, "The Prayer Warrior"), but when you pray, please remember us.
We want to help someone, and there are a lot of lost folks out there.
We don't want to be in a little bubble of our four and no more...we want to help.
This past summer I had pnuemonia (sp) twice, (within 3 months), and had an accident, so I missed alot of services.
My husband was (and still is) in Iraq, so my children attended services with my sister.
My 14 yr old ( who is going on 25 yrs of age) is very spiritual, (called to preached) would come home, just loaded down.
All he could hear about was, "don't pluck your eyebrows, no tanning in tanning beds, unless you own one, no uneven hem skirts, (you know the skirts where the hem is not straight, but every so often, the hem line is pointed), no pink shirts, or pink anything), video games ok, but only on a monitor, not on a tv, (even though you could not get reception), and holidays are a no no), and on and on and on.
Although my son is not affected by most of the above listed items, (what was happening), he was not being "fed".
As soon as I recouperated, I began taking my children elsewhere.
I love the people where we currently attend, but I don't feel we are where we need to be.
I have been in church since I was 13 (started attending with my mom, at age 3) and I am now 46.
I know God called me into a work some years ago, and my husband also.
Please help us pray for direction, (my husband should be home from Iraq in
April; we thought June, but it may be sooner).
Some folks would ask, "why ask people to pray that you don't know"?
I find I am more like my grandmother more each day, when she wanted prayer, she wanted everyone to pray.
Thank you for your prayers.
