As far as the changes for this season go, Simon reiterated what Nigel had said during his press event that the focus this year will definitely be more on the Idols and less on their interactions with the mentors. Simon doesn't think last year was a bad season, however. He said that 90% of what happened was still good, as it is a well produced show. He pointed out, though, that you can't help who walks through your door during a particular time period, and this year has already resulted in "better and more interesting" contestants. Change just for the sake of change isn't good, according to Simon. Instead, you have to "evolve the process." He assures us that we will see an improved show this season.

It should be pretty cool but Prision Break will be much more entertaining

Not at all! Are you kidding me??? They are making soooooo much money off of this! Not to mention it's the most viewed program of all time isn't it???

In that interview, they mentioned something about Simon leaving the show. He said he would probably stay through Season 9.

Yeah it's a good show but like all good things....it will come to an end sometime. Simon is through season 9 huh? That is cool.
