My Dad is a Miracle
I just wanted to thank God this morning for my Dad being alive and well. He had a major stroke Feb. 15, 2000, and was like a complete vegetable for two months. He had surgery for a blood clot in his brain and after the surgery, they did something wrong in removing a tube and air got into his brain. He went from talking and laughing to being able to do NOTHING for himself. The doctors did not know if he would ever regain his skills. They didn't even know if he would live for a few weeks.
I asked God at the time for fifteen more years for him; we weren't ready to give him up. (I guess no one ever is). It has been eight years yesterday, and he's still going strong. He has a tube in his head that you can see, which is a constant reminder of what God did for him. He drives everywhere, goes on vacation, etc. The only lasting harm from it all is that he is constantly feeling off balance, so he can't golf anymore. And he feels like he's falling, even when he's not. They went on a cruise a couple year ago and we were afraid he would feel really off balance walking on the moving boat, but he was the only one who didn't feel it!!

Sherri we do not know why God allows some to live and be a miracle blessing.
I have stopped trying to figure his plan out.
My father passed away young at 43.
Then my oldest son was born with a rare genetic terminal disease.
He had a non-related donor transplant in 2004.
He is getting stroger everyday and beating the odds.
I praise God each and everyday that the Lord is giving him a great testimony.
So one day my son John will be sharing with other young people just what the Lord has done for him....
I praise God along with you for your dads continued miracle...
God bless,
Nate

Well, if he makes it through the first fifteen, he will be 85. I don't think he would want me to ask for fifteen more!

Re: My Dad is a Miracle
Sherri, I've been thinking alot lately about how grateful I am for the last two years that God has given to us with Walt - another true miracle. You all were there for that one. Something I will always be sooooooooo grateful to all of you for. I don't know how I could have done it without your prayers and encouragement.
I didn't ask God for a specific amount of time. I just asked that he could stay here to help finish raising our boys. Justin graduates this year. Keith will graduate in four years. But I know for sure that in four years I will still not be ready to lose Walt.
He has had a couple of episodes lately of severe dizziness. Please, everyone, would you pray for Walt again? I shouldn't be, but I am scared.

Of course you're scared; who wouldn't be, after what you went through? I will be praying for him. I didn't know that there could be any residual effects from what he experienced. It's good to remind us to pray, because sometimes we forget and let people slip through the cracks!

Re: My Dad is a Miracle
God is so good to all of us. I am so thankful for all the good reports of His goodness listed here. Time slows for no one. In the not too distant future, we will all be called home....whether it be many years or a few years, they are but a speck in God's universe. However, He loves us so much that He can't stand to be without us in eternity! Thank you, Father, for the cross and the price You paid that we may all glorify You and praise you with the testimony of our lips!!!
