The RACE Card

I wonder why folks can claim to be a particular race even if they are 12.5% of that race?

My wife has a Cherokee card and is only 1/4 Indian.

Many blacks are less than half yet claim the black community status.

Personally, I think it should be like the standard for Black Angus... 51% or more in the bloodline to make the claim...

There ya go - i done played the race card!

I think his assertions are not all that relevant, and they ignore certain real-world realities.
(A person's racial identity is not just an issue of measuring biological percentages. But I'll just leave it at that.)

But from this point, I'm looking forward to the thread dying a quick and silent death.

Re: The RACE Card

The color of one's pigmentation, cultural/family upbringing, degrees of discrimination, etc. don't play a factor in this broad based litmus test, Stephen?

As for me, I am of the seed of Abraham.

Not all of us fit into one of those categories. Many of us don't fit into one of those categories. Barack Obama would not fit into one of those categories.

I consider myself Caucasian because my parents and grandparents were considered Caucasian but are of Irish, English, German, and Native American descent. So we are more Caucasian than anything else.
