What is the most compelling reason that changed you from believing the "three step" plan of salvation to a "one step" plan of salvation?

I have an hypothesis and I want to see if it is true.

Ditto. Also, if a person is able to receive the HG before baptism they are still considered unsaved by most cause of not all the 3 steps being completed yet?? That was a tought pill to swallow cause it makes NO sense Biblically or otherwise. How can or will God fill someone with His spirit while still yet they are unclean--it doesn't add up!
