Running Out of Cash!
The Drudge Report just reported that General Motors is running out of cash! I've got news for you, other companies are too!
Mrs. Steinway works for a large corporation in management. It was told that they are running low on cash, and that their line of credit rate has risen from 1% to 4%!
Folks, things are going to get worse before they get better!

Re: Running Out of Cash!
Running out of cash?
Don't we all do that?
My pension check gets deposited first business day of the month.
I distribute it among utilities, charity, etc. Most of it disappears in a few days.
Then, the second Wednesday of the month arrives and two Social Security checks get deposited. I distribute those funds to the folks that we pay the second half of the month.
Then we hope what's left lasts through the rest of the month.
Some times there is a dollar or two left at the end of the month, some times not.
Like someone once said, "There's too much month left at the end of the money," but elderly folks on a fixed income coping with constantly rising costs often have to live that way.

Sam, it's different when corporations that are the backbone of our economy are having cash problems.
What do they do? You will see mass lay-offs and factory closings to get the negative cash flow straightened out. I expect the merger of GM and Chrysler to happen to help correct this problem. In the meantime, both companies will be laying off thousands of workers.

I just hope GM can hang around long enough for their new VOLT to debut.

Re: Running Out of Cash!
The auto makers recently received a bailout and now another is being considered.
We were just hit for a massive bailout of financial institutions that hasn't even been distributed yet.
Is this Socialism or not?
Good things these businesses can spend money with no limits. They can always depend on the FDIC to make up for their extravagances and errors. By the way, doesn't FDIC stand for:

All gloom and doom - what do you suggest we do to prepare ourselves?
