Scalloped Potato Recipe

I have someone coming to dinner tomorrow who loves scalloped potatoes. Does anyone have a favorite scalloped potato recipe? I won't have much oven space as I am cooking the turkey, dressing, and rolls. Any suggestions for cooking scalloped potatoes on the top of the stove or in a crock pot? He likes cheese and onion - not a lot of extras.

Here is one similar to what I did in the past that I just found on the net. Maybe this will work for "stove top scalloped potatoes."

Actually, my scalloped potatoes turned out well, too...I used the stove top recipe with the cream cheese and extra sharp cheddar cheese and also added a little onion. My daughter-in-law ate three servings.
