The Need Of The Hour...

I've been thinking about this all morning, so for whatever it is worth, this is how I see it from my front porch...I have put my thoughts in it's own thread so as not to hijack another...

Some are saying that we need a healer in the camp

Folks are speculating about whether Bro. Haney will be reelected, or who the new GS might be in his stead.

Some think that another split is imminent, and others see it as a sign of progress.

But is it?!

Is God pleased when men part over differences of opinion?!

Can it be God's will when brethren who have walked hand in hand for years go their separate ways with the mindset that "WE have it all, and YOU are on the 'slippery slope to damnation?!'

By the same token, is it God's will to part company because the old path seems too rigid for our day?!

Is one of the basic tenents of the Fundamental Doctrine, that being that "they will not centend for their different views to the disunity of the Body" lost in the valley of "We're right, and you're wrong?!"

Does this please the Lord?!

What does HE think of His Church, and the divisiveness all of this brings?!

What do we need?!

More political posturing?!

Do we need someone to step up, and say, "I alone have the answer?!"

I don't think so...

I think we need a Word from the Lord.

I think we need to slow down, shutup and hear a Word from the Lord.

Thomas Whitfield said it best in these few words...

We don’t need another political uprising,
we don’t need another conqueror on the scene.
What we need is a special Word,
that will burn within our hearts
and give us direction from above.

We need a Word from the Lord,
a Word from the Lord.
Just one Word from the Lord,
will move all the doubts
and cause the sun to shine,
and give peace of mind;
speak Lord, speak.

Lord we lack Thy wisdom and Thy understanding,
Lord we lack the very love You showed through Your Son.
Lord we’ve altered in Thy ways
and we stand so much to gain,
So give us your Word Lord; speak Lord.

We need a Word from the Lord,
a Word from the Lord.
Just one Word from the Lord,
will move all the doubts
and cause the sun to shine,
and give peace of mind;
speak Lord, speak.

That is what I am praying for this week of GC...a Word from the Lord to burn within the hearts of His people.

When I saw the title of your thread, it reminded me of a book I think everyone should read if they have not already, entitled: The Supreme Need of the Hour....Prayer.

And prayer is the supreme need of the hour. Pray until you hear from God.

Pray until Unity is where we are in Him. Then we would be in unity amoung ourselves.
