Blast from the past

Working on a project, computers crashed for awhile so someone cranked up an oldie rock station.

Forgotten all about some of these bands.

What a blast from the past.

Bachman Turner Overdrive, Buffalo Springfield. Bad Company, 38 Special, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Foreigner, Led Zepplin, Lynard Skynard, Grand Funk Railroad, Steppenwolfe

Was struck by two things.

1. My generation's "subversive" is mild compared to what is played today
2. How many of them were ballads, some with pretty deep meaning.

That's what cracks me up about music! Every generation, the parents/adults cry and moan about how "todays" music is the end of civilization. Then, eventually, it becomes the next generations "oldies" or "easy listening."

Re: Blast from the past

Aside from the drunk standing behind me and being completely obnoxious the entire time, Roger Water's The Wall show in Chicago last month was a real spectacle to behold. Took a hit to the wallet for the $250 ticket but it was well worth it.
