Baron & Griffin: HELP! (Or anyone else....)

I got called for jury duty--Feb. 4--and I don't want to go! I don't have time for it, I don't want to do it, I'll be bored out of my skull and I have MUCH better things to do with my time!

How do I get out of it?

Is it possible?

Why couldn't they have called my husband? Why can't I send someone in my place? WHY don't they allow you to find your own substitute?

When they interview you just tell them you are proud of your ability to read the guilt of someone by just looking into their beady little eyes!

usually you get the initial 'call' where you have your options to petition the court for leave. I get these things all the time and each time I go to the Dr and get a written leave due to medical reasons, mail it in and they send me an exemption. You have to give good cause for an exemption

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

I'm not a lawyer, but I can tell you 100% how to get dismissed immediately. Stand up, point at the defendant, and yell, "He's guilty!! I can see it in his eyes!!! Give him the chair!!"

You'll be home in a half-hour.

Seriously, use some variation of this giving a hint that you can't be impartial, and you'll be toast.

Every time I've been, as soon as I say I'm a pastor, I'm immediately dismissed.

EDIT: Looks like Randy stole my thunder! In the mouths of two or three witnesses!!

Or try picking at yourself, then frantically wiping off yourself while muttering "Snakes?!"

Assert your desire to see him fry. Doesn't matter if it's for burglary

I thought you were exempt if you had small children at home? Are yours young enough to qualify?

Start talking to yourself or invisible friend.

“I don't have time for it, I don't want to do it, I'll be bored out of my skull and I have MUCH better things to do with my time!”

Those are all the same excuses I hear when we have a cleaning party at the church, lol. But this is much more important that that. Jury duty is a civic duty and you should be willing to endure the inconvenience just because it is the price you pay to have the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of your peers when you stand accused someday.

Believe it or not, the last time I was on Jury Duty I actually enjoyed it. It was a life experience everyone needs to have.
