Striving for a new level of dedication.

do you strive for a newer level of dedication? Are you hungry for a deeper walk with God? How much do we stress consecration?

When we are not stressing reaching a new level of consecration and dedication do we stagnate and reach a level of mediocrity and apathy?

And what things can we do or what things can we do less?
Less TV? Less "Ameican Idol" and more prayer and bible reading?

This was just a thought...I played an online game last night I have not been into for a long long time. And ironically I was tired and could have went to sleep earlier. But I found myself playing it till late.

Today now I feel really distracted while trying to pray. I was just wondering what else we do that might affect us like this that we can do less of just for the sake of having a deeper walk and maybe even being more used of by God...any thoughts?

You know Prax, it seems that God has been dealing with me in much the same way, only for me its not the tv. I have been really busy as we have just had our first baby, and we are getting ready to move to a new location. It has been so hectic and stessfull these last couple of weeks, that I have laxed a little on my devotion time with the Lord. Thanks for the reminder.

Less of this thing in front of me, and, in particular, these forum sites on this thing in front of me.

In fact, I sat down almost an hour ago for "just a few minutes", needing more to study for a morning bible study that could be very important in the life of one unsaved but seriously hungry Baptist lady.

With that......I'm out! Thanks for the reminder!

Here is the level of commitment the Lord requires.

48: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt. 5:48

Most do not know that this is NOT OPTIONAL.

It seems that when the Lord begins to deal with His people, it is not just with one or two, but He speaks and draws us all...thank you for this thread, Prax.

Yah.

And we wonder why we always look back to the times of our parents, grandparents and great grandparents and beyond and see and hear about men and women of God who spent a large part of their days studying the Word and praying.

They even had time to throw in some work! Imagine that!!
