Make sure your burner is compatible with DVD -R disks If it is, the front of your DVD burner should say DVD-r. Try a different disk. Try another burning software other than Windows Media. You can download Ashampoo Burning Studio free edition, or burn4free from download.com.

Re: Help on burning a cd????
I think it depends what kind of file you are trying to burn. most files like mpeg 4, avi etc first have to be converted to vob before being burned. I use convertxtodvd. you can find it for free on torrent sites. or you can pay for it. pm me if you need info on torrent sites.

Tons of variables here. Type of video, data disc or video disc, DVD-r vs +r, playback medium ( computer, tv, DVD player). Need more info.

I'm trying to burn home videos from camcorder. It will act like its burning but at end say encounter problem then dvd is not recognized as blank as if something on it but not recognized by player as anything being on there. I'm a rookie about the format stuff. Been about 6 to7 years since I burned anything, which I did fine. think I had adjust burn speed but worked fine.

you need a dvd converter program. find out what type of file is your video. .xxx the suffix, then google "how to convert .xxx to dvd" and a bunch of programs will come up. there are some free and others for sale. another good one is dvdfab.
