Why Do Liberals Despise Rich, Successful People?
Do you agree that there's the perception that liberals look at wealthy, successful people as evil, greedy, manipulative money grubbers who have become wealthy and successful off of the backs of the working classes and the poor? Why the disdain? Why the animus? I don't understand why we as Americans can't rejoice in the successes of our fellow citizens and appreciate so much good that they do in our country from philanthropy to job creation, from inventions to innovations.
California is raising the state income tax to 14%. That means wealthy folks in that state are looking at having to potentially pay nearly 55% of their income in just federal and state taxes, not to mention local and property taxes.
I don't envy the rich, I don't despise them. I personally wouldn't mind being wealthy although it's not my goal. I just don't understand the rationale behind demonizing the wealthy classes of America.
