Does no standards fulfill understanding prophesy?

I am wondering lately if the move of so many Pentecostal churches to drop dress code rules (they call them "standards") has to do with this being the end times.

In Daniel 12:14 it says that in the last days the scriptures would be opened and that we would have greater understanding. I wonder if this greater understanding is leading us out of man-made bondage and into a closer walk with God.

I don't think so. In actuality, oneness pentecostalism and their 'standards' have little to do with Christianity in general and certainly has nothing to do with any supposed endtimes. Within Christianity they're a relatively minor sub-sect of the larger sect of Pentecostalism and will only affect a very small number of people with their various views on what are mainly women's issues concerning dress and behavior.

I have noticed many churches who say they are UPC/Apostolic/Oneness/Pentecostal , have or are getting slack on their dress codes/standards. I do not know why or would not want to speculate. It sort of leaves some with confusion if I may say that bc, I remember growing up and never seeing my mother in pants, short sleeves, makeup (not even powder) ...etc, and we never owned a TV. Now I dont hear much (if anything at all) coming from (some) preachers about TV or sleeve length or dress .... ????? I will add....to this day I still have yet to see my mom any other way but the way I remember her as from my childhood. I am very proud of the Godly example my mother has lived!

I believe that we are seeing what the bible speaks of a great falling away. People falling away for God's Word in favour of a feel good message. Turning from the turht unto fables. Heaping to themselves teachers having itching ears. People want to feel good but not be commeted to God. the blessme but don't ask anything of me mentaillty.

FollowingJesus - That's an interesting take and one I have heard before. There is a group out there that thinks that unless you follow manmade rules, you arent committed to God. I am in the camp that those are two very different things.

I definitely believe there is a great falling away happening today, but I don't believe it has anything to do with arbitrary church dress code preferences. Look at how many people don't even identify themselves as Christians anymore. That's a falling away I'd I have ever seen one.

LifeUncommon - I believe that standards of holiness and lifestyle are just as important and neccessary as Jesus name baptizism and recieving the Holy Ghost. So the falling away I am referring to would be those leaving the God given standards of holiness.

Although there are many going under the name of Pentecost today a large number of them do not fully follow the Word of God. They have fallen away from a lifestlye of separation and rightousness.
