What are your thoughts on celebrating the Feasts?

Re: Jewish Feasts
Everytime there is a false prediction of when the rapture is going to take place it is based on Jewish feasts teaching.
They were ordained for Israel. Types and shadows? Sure.

Yes, I think all this talk about "blood moons" etc., has really triggered a lot more interest in Jewish feasts, and Sabbaths. Friends of ours were reading up on the blood moons, and then read the book written by Mark Biltz (a rabbi in Seattle who predicted the blood moons), and now they watch his podcasts and livestreams every Saturday, and are celebrating Sabbath, and this all began because of their interest in the blood moons.

Yes, Jonathan Cahn (author of THE HARBINGER) is a Messianic Jew who believes Christians should keep the feasts.

Re: Jewish Feasts
It seems to be a trend or "fad" going on more and more. We have close friends who have just decided to begin observing Sabbath, and are studying the feasts as well. We have other friends who have been Messianic for years. It seems more and more people are following after this.
I don't believe that it is for the Gentiles. Paul wrote all his epistles to churches with both Gentile and Jewish believers, and never explicitly taught the Gentiles to follow the feasts or Sabbaths. If it was so important, as those in the Messianic faith say, it would seem that Paul would have devoted more time to teaching the Gentiles TO DO these things, but he didn't.

Spiritually, it does nothing for a believer.
"So now that you know God (or should I say, now that God knows you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world? You are trying to earn favor with God by observing certain days or months or seasons or years." ( Gal 4:9-10 NLT)

Re: Jewish Feasts
A sister in the Lord bragged to me about her son converting to Judaism. Why is it getting so crazy?

This is one thing that happens when believers abandon the doctrines of grace.

Re: Jewish Feasts
Jewish festivals (like Hannukah or Purim) are not the same as and should not be confused with the Feasts of the Lord.
Our family has kept God's "appointed times" for about 15 years or so now. The "Day of Trumpets" is right around the corner btw. :-D
If anyone has any questions about how or why regarding these things ask away.
