What Makes You Different From Your Co-Workers?

From the obvious to the hidden-- in what ways are you different from the people you interact with on a daily basis?

There are a lot of ways. First, most of them are Catholic. I am not. None of them are born again. Most of them drink, though none of them are drunkards. They curse at times. I don't. Five of them are men. Just a few things off the top of my head.

Is there a reason why you work with so many Catholics? I just don't know that many practicing Catholics, let alone work with them. Or maybe I know them and don't know that they are Catholics...

You don't curse at all-- not even accidentally? That's a good thing.

Being transparent, one of the things that has happened since I left the Apostolics is that I find myself slipping in this area evey once in a while.

Some people and some situations are just so provocative!

Certain areas are filled with more Catholics than others. It's only natural those areas would involve working around more of them.

You find that surprising?

I work with a lot of Catholics for a few reasons. First of all, I am in the New Orleans area. This area is very Catholic. That's part of why we have "parishes" instead of "counties" in the state. My family is mostly catholic... even I was sprinkled as a baby and forced to go to catechism as a child.... though I will say that I started rejecting it when I was six years old.

Secondly, our biggest client is the Catholic church, and all that implies.

No, I don't curse. I can't say I've never failed in this area, but it's only been when I have been extremely tired, not focused and have allowed myself to get frustrated. It's the worst feeling when that flesh flares up.

How about you JITO-- in what ways are you different from the other people in your daily life?

I am with you on this. My own carnality is so distressing to me and when I see it in other Christians, it really turns my stomach.

Exactly! And, OMG, when I act a fool in front of my husband it makes even that much more ashamed of myself.. And when I apologize and he says, "You should be sorry." Oh, man... don't beat a girl when she's down... but I think he says that because it's such a rarity that it takes him by surprise.

WOW-- you actually apologize to your husband?

j/k

If I ever marry, I imagine I'll never have to apologize to ym future wife because I'll never be wrong!
