How's that public school thing going?
http://www.breitbart.com/big-governm...public-school/
".Middle school parents in Tennessee are up in arms on learning that their children were instructed to recite and write, “Allah is the only god,” as part of a world history project."

But hey, no worries! They spend 3 weeks on learning the fundamentals of the doctrines of Islam, but there will be NO INSTRUCTION on the history of Christianity ! Yay! Progress!
I'm sure this indoctrination will be EASILY countered and neutralized by 30 minutes of Sunday school, what with the pizza and games, oh and the "youth night" club scene hosted by the youth "pastor" with the cool hipster hairdo and "casual rebel-within-the-system" wardrobe. He brings the COOL music, all that sick bomb tight dub step and (pseudo) metal that will bring all the kids closer to Jesus. So, not to worry!

It's like the Persians are sailing into the harbor and the Spartans have taken up McDonald's and disco, and oh hey, what's that sound over yon hills...?

Problem is... any homeschooled child who intends to further their education will also encounter this nonsense at the college professional level as well. My daughter took an English class in her first year of college, and English basically was not taught, but every writing project they had to do was centered around feminism, gay issues, and global warming! Everything! It was horrendous. The agenda abounds everywhere, and while you can homeschool your kids and shelter them from it for a while, eventually they will have to face it.

Wouldn't facing our culture head on, from the beginning, make a person more apt to deal with it in the future?
How many sheltered children grow up and succumb to the bright lights of the world?
Why are "preacher's kids" often the worst kids/young adults?

Sheltered. Facing cultural problems head on/early on. I don't know. Sounds like they may be at a slight disadvantage as young Christians in these public institutions. I don't believe we should be making it our child's battlefield when we can help it.

I think having a LOVING and sanctified home is of the utmost importance. However, I disagree with the idea of sheltering Christian kids by homeschooling them.
One thing is true though. What might be the optimal environment for one kid may not be the optimal environment for another kid. Some kids thrive in a counter culture environment. Some kids don't. Some kids tend to lead. Some kids tend to follow.

Re: How's that public school thing going?
Were it not for AZ having awesome Charter schools, we would be home schooling our daughter. There's no way I'd send my daughter to public schools, when they're indoctrinating them with Islam, homosexuality and transgender issues. I just read some school is starting in the 1st Grade, teaching about transgender and homosexuality. FIRST GRADE! My daughter is in first grade!
Sorry if I offend any parents whose children are in public schools, but public schools are no place for Apostolic kids. And our college's and universities are quickly becoming that way as well.
