I am just wondering if any of the posters on here take vitamins. And, if you do what do you take. Do you have any that you would recommend? I am trying thinking that I need to start taking something, yet I am not real educated on them. Can anyone help?
I personally don't believe in vitamins. I don't understand how chemists can extract the nutrients from fruits and vegetables and make pills.
What are vitamin pills made from? I think a healthier diet of more fruits and vegetables along with switching to diet soda is sufficient. (imho)
A women's multivitamin is the best thing you can take, as it's formulated for what a woman needs. Also, take a calcium with Vit D supplement as well. This is separate from the multivitamin. Take at least 600mg daily of calcium.
I shop at the GNC for my vitamins, but they are expensive and probably not better than what you get at Walmart, but I have to get the liquid, and GNC is the only place I can get it.

WRONG!!! There is more to vitamins that eating more fruits and veggies. And you don't get much calcium from veggies either.
And throw out the diet soda!!! Aspartame is linked to Alzheimer's. Splenda isn't good for your GI system.
The fruits and veggies today that you buy in stores don't have the nutrients they used to have either. It's better to grow your own.

I buy my vitamins at a good health food store, the ones that are usually indepentantly owned. I take a good multivitamin, calcium, B-100 (energy) and a few other supplements. NOW brand is a favorite.
I take quite a few supplements. I would suggest reading a few books on the subject. The reason that our food isn't sufficient now is because of our farming practices and the toxins in the environment. Much of the land is overfarmed and so the food doesn't have the level of nutrients it should. Add to that the pesticides and genetic engineering and the good that is extracted out of the food to make ingredients that are used in food and all that....it makes much of what we eat a toxic cocktail without much for nutrients. Then with meat and dairy there are the hormones that the animals are injected with. It's truly a scary world.

I am not much of a veggie person. i don't like salad a lot because the lettuce is usually dry, and hard to swallow. I recently have been on a cucumber kick. I love the crunch and enjoy them especially if they have good flavor. I can't eat too much fruit because I am diabetic. If I drink soda it has to be diet. I have done it before but I am considering once again eliminating it from my diet. I felt a lot better when I did it before.
