U-CON, CONS, Moderates, LIBERAL?

Ever think of the titles and labels used around here? What do they refer to when they say CON or LIB? It is predominantly the issue of Clothes! (There is the liberal notion of salvation as well. But for the most part people are referring to what a person says about concerns over dress codes when they refer to CONS or LIBS). This means that we categorize people with the emphasis on clothing, when the bible NEVER made clothing an emphasis. It was briefly mentioned and it was mentioned in lieu of modesty and sexual distinction only. And the instances the Bible mentions that is microscopic compared to the issues the Bible emphasizes. And I strongly believe in modesty.

So, why do we not categorize people around the issues the bible emphasizes instead of things the bible barely mentions?

Perhaps. But what is it that people mostly think about with even the mindset? Clothes, predominantly. Amongst all the things a person can be liberal about, or conservative about, it is clothing that tops the list.

What an interesting topic!

I wonder what the Lord thinks about us labeling our fellow brothers and sisters.

not really.I consider myself conservative and I don't think about clothes alot unless I am shopping.I guess it might depend on how big a church crowd you are used to and how much life experience you have. Its easy to preach to the choir.I mostly think about prayer and reaching the backsliders and the lost.

And that is good. But for the most part, this forum has evidenced that clothing is the issue with most people, along with TV's. lol

I just think its like that on this forum.I actually have been praying that someone would get on here and share the awesome revival their church is having. Not that anyone would be interested because lately it seems all anyone is interested in is arguing their point and talking about the UPC thing
going on.Its sad though.

btw how is Ca church going?

Guess I may be an exception then. I have always had difficulty in labeling myself. In a UPC perspective, I am Ultra Con in some areas and Ultra Liberal in others... I guess thats why, when pressed I often default to "moderate"!
