I've got a curiosity

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a UPC pastor's wife last week. They live here in Ohio. I asked whether there has been any fall-out in this area because of TV thing at Conference.

She told me that the fall-out is a southern thing, a texas thing and a california thing. She said that here in the Northwest and most of the Midwest, people don't see it as the same kind of huge issue as other areas of the country do. (she thinks it's ridiculous. Her words, not mine )

Anyhow, I'm wondering how accurate she is? Does anyone know?

Well, I can't speak for a very broad range of people, but here in this area (southern IN) I don't personally know of anybody that's up in arms about it.

I only know of 2 in the state of Ohio that may pull out. I know of some others that are not totally comfortable with it, but over all it is not a big deal.

It wouldn't be a big deal in Ohio at all, since the Ohio District is where the resolution came from...

I don't think it is really a big deal here is Mississippi. A few folks might not like it but I don't see anyone leaving. Of course that is just the feeling I get.

THere may be a couple of churches in Michigan that would consider it a big deal, but for the most part, I think we feel like your friend feels, Margie.

The most I've heard about it is what I read off the Internet.

Texas has 3 districts... I don't think it is that a big of a deal with the Texico District. Not a big deal at all in South Texas District... It is a pretty big deal with Texas District, mainly because of the East Texas sector, where there are a lot of uc's.

Lol, I remember hearing FO preach in Louisana at Bogalusa Bible Conference back in the 80s, and he said, "The only rings that you should find in church are in the sound system - and not even then if you have a good sound man!"
