Mistakes People of God Make!!

After viewing another thread on this forum, the thought occured to

me that "backsliders" are not the only who makes mistakes. Men and

women who have known God make mistakes also. Perhaps they would

not think of themselves as "backsliders" but nevertheless, they make

mistakes. If they make a mistake but continue to look the same on the

outside, does that mean they have not made a mistake! Yes, man looks

on the outside but God sees the heart.

I will be the first to confess that while you could not have told by

my outward appearance, I have made mistakes. But I have learned

from them. God saw me all the time. Today He is my dearest Friend.

He knows me inside out, head to toe. I am my Beloved's and my Be-

loved is mine. I adore HIM. HE loves me!! I serve Him and look to Him

because I have learned to trust Him. He is SOOOOO GOOD TO me and

mine. I can't imagine living without HIM! I love HIM SO MUCH. No, I

haven't seen HIM but HIS love letters tell me of HIS great love for me

that while I was yet a sinner, even before I knew HIM, HE loved me

enough to die for me. I don't know anyone else who would do that for

me. I love HIM because I found out how much HE loved me first. I could

not resist HIM when I realized just how much HE CARED FOR me!!

We all make mistakes. We all fall from time to time but God is gracious and through his Son Jesus Christ we have forgiveness time after time after time.

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Even when we slip and fall we are not forsaken nor left to pick ourselves up out of the mire but He is there with a helping hand if we look to Him and call on Him. The odd thing about these verses is that we can be walking in the light and still sin and need the cleansing that comes from the blood of the Lamb.

This is an awesome post...I was just thinking a bit ago and talking with my hubby about that thread, and wondering just how I would post to it...because the thing that jumps out at me is the assumption that one is backslid because someone has walked away from a church...nothing could be further from the truth...which is what I seek, truth and a relationship with Him.

I would like to tell you a mistake saints make who have good intentions but this mistake that is told about comes straight from the mouth of a backslidder, My child.

When they come to church and want to go to the altar, and do, they are almost enthronged by people laying hands on them and praying for them.

This is not always what a backslidder wants. Sometimes they just want a person or a couple people to pray with them. It makes them feel like a spectacle when everyone encircles them and gets in there face.They have enough guilt and problems trying to touch God without another huge distraction.

Just thought I would give this to think about so that next time your wanting to pray with a backslidder allow those people that are close to the person to handle a situation and pray at your pew for them.

I can tell by your outward appearence that you've made mistakes!
