I love the New Praise and Worship Songs, but sometimes it's good to get back to the simple songs that speaks to the soul. My daughter likes me to sing to her as I'm tucking her in at night and about 3 weeks ago this song came to my mind and I thought it was one that could teach her a lot too. I happened to be going through situations and it blessed me thoroughly and has been on my mind since.

I love the New Praise and Worship Songs, but sometimes it's good to get back to the simple songs that speaks to the soul. My daughter likes me to sing to her as I'm tucking her in at night and about 3 weeks ago this song came to my mind and I thought it was one that could teach her a lot too. I happened to be going through situations and it blessed me thoroughly and has been on my mind since.
I was a little late to church this past Sunday morning and when I got there this song was being sung as a congregational song and the Spirit of God filled that place.

duties as the mother of eleven, singing "Leave It There",

mother of six adult children and their spouses, and the

at my late father in law's funeral. It was also sung in 1970 at our

little five and a half year old daughter's funeral. The words have

We are in revival services and the evangelist and his wife sang this last night. God's presence came down in such a sweet way. This is one of those golden oldies that never gets old.

The year was 1958! Revival in a city in Texas.

This song seemed to be the theme song in that

it was sung night after night. I have sung it

many times through these years. The pastor's

wife led the congregation with the chorus just

this past week. It never grows old to me.

I had received the Holy Ghost a short time

before this revival in another Texas town. But

I met my husband, who received the Holy Ghost

and was baptized in this revival. We married in

1959, 48 yrs. ago this past July.

This song brings back many memories, some good

and some not so good.

If we never had storms or rain, things would dry

up and die. And in earthquakes (shakings) there

will be those things still standing after all the

debris has been removed and taken away. Those

things which still stand today, after all the fall out

are memorials that those things which cannot be

shaken will remain forever (eternally), Depends on

what your foundation was built on. If our foundation

was not built on Christ, or is not being built on the

Rock, we had better be standing next to someone

whose was/is built there. As children we stood between

some "big" stones or "trees" and were "sheltered" until

we could "build our own house", or become mature enough

to weather them ourselves!

Thank God for the Rock, Christ Jesus!! He is the founder

and the foundation. Looking unto JESUS, the Author and

The Finisher of our Faith.

I met James Cleveland with my Dad in 1974 in Indianapolis, IN when my dad preached at Bro Urshan's church in Indy.

This song has stayed near my mind since this summer. I found a very old "Evie" cassette and listened to it while trying to sell my home this past summer. While losing what seemed like a gazillion dollars this past year--this song propped me up all the way. It's amazing how close to calvary we feel when we're suffering. Thanks PO, I just downloaded that song from Amazon. I haven't quite gotten there completely but to be able to rejoice in tribulation because we trust in the living God who said His grace is sufficient is a goal of mine. I always seem to whine a little to God when faced with adversity. I'm learning.

Compare Psalms 74 with 84! Very awesome! People can bring destruction with their carnal devices because of selfishness, but in Psalm 84 - "How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!"

No matter what people are desiring to build for their own gain - "For a day in they courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."

Than I can say, in Psalm 103 - "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.........."

Well, honestly I was having a meltdown this morning and God gave those scriptures to me having awoken me with the song that I posted. He was preparing my day!

In the midst of praying I realized I had arrived at a place in my walk that I cared for nothing but His presence! I actually stopped for a moment and went - "Wow, I've never felt this much faith in my life!" I've come to the place that I trust His leading no matter what. I can actually say, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in Him."
