Our son's birthmother is dead
Remember last summer when I told you all that we were taking our oldest son, Justin, to meet his birthmother for the first time? The meeting went well. Answered alot of questions for Justin. And it was very evident that getting to see him was a huge load off of his birthmother's shoulders also.
Well, today we got a phone call from his biological grandma. His birthmother died today. She seems to have committed suicide.
We have not called Justin with the news yet. He is at college, 5 hours away from here. I don't know if he will feel the need to come back for her funeral or not. If he wants to, we will certainly be supportive of him. If he chooses not to, we will understand that as well.
I know this is going to be alot for him to sort out in his own mind. And I hate that he is this far away so we cannot be there to help him talk thru it. How does he handle this? What does he say to his biological siblings that were still with her? How do he come to grips in his mind and heart with the fact that she took her own life? There's just so much involved.
I am asking all of you to please pray for:
1) Justin. I don't know what to ask for. Just pray.
2) Pray for his biological family as they grieve.
3) Pray for us as we try to be a help to Justin.
Thank you all. I don't know what I'd do without you. Love you! Every one of you!!

I am so sorry to hear that Margie. You and Justin are in my prayers. The young man will need a source of strength - I can only imagine the confusion and pain he might feel.

Re: Our son's birthmother is dead
I really appreciate all of your prayers. We have not called Justin yet. We have to do that this morning. But we didn't want to call until we knew more information to give him. There is no way I can imagine the confusion he is going to feel regarding his own emotions in a case like this. He has just finally had the chance to meet her and hear from her own mouth why she didn't do what she needed to do in order to keep him when he was a baby, but she was able to get straightened around and keep the siblings who were born after him. And now those siblings will all have lost their mother. OUCH! I know that his thoughts will go along the line of, "Were they they lucky ones because they got to stay with her? Or am I the lucky one because I still have my mom?" Ouch! ouch! ouch!
Again, I thank you for your prayers. This will be a hard time for him.

Re: Our son's birthmother is dead
Will be praying for all.
Lord help Margie have the right words to say to Justin when they talk. Comfort this child and give him peace. In Jesus name, Amen.
