Rand Paul: We Probably Can't Get Rid Of Obamacare

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_3971784.html

Quote:
"I'm acknowledging we can't probably defeat or get rid of Obamacare," he said. "But by starting with our position of not funding it, maybe we get to a position where we make it less bad."
This is a quote from the comments section

Quote:
This is EXACTLY why the Republican Party provides NO VALUE to its country.
ObamaCare has been law for about FIVE YEARS. People have been fighting for health care reform for MORE than a CENTURY.
At this point, shouldn't the Republicans have a SPECIFIC PROPOSAL for something that will do GOOD? Not something to make someone else's idea "less bad" as an alternative to just throwing out that idea and doing nothing?
Rand Paul: You are a US Senator. You must try to do a positive, proactive good. Just standing in the way of progress and whining is NOT what your job. Please resign immediately, and take your similar lazy colleagues with you.

How could that commenter not know that the GOP has indeed offered alternative proposals time and again, including this past week?

Really?

When?

What?

This past week was the first time there was an actual "plan" released and it is still many years too late.

The Administration almost begged the GOP for input, but they refused to participate, except for a few GOP'ers.

You are showing that you, very largely, only listen to the liberal media. And that makes me afraid of you being in the military. It makes me wonder if you would really fire on American citizens or if you would uphold our Constitution.

The GOP offered many proposals, especially during the GOP primaries. The media acted as though NONE of the alternatives were workable, which wasn't true at all.

Jeremy,

PressingOn is correct. I have been studying the GOP proposals for YEARS. The proposal they made the other day closely mirrors what they have been proposing all along. This time there was no way the media could avoid covering the story, though they will now try to sweep it from memory ASAP.

Yikes. While I very strongly disagree with Jermyn's political schizophrenia, and while I don't believe (in spite of his claims to the contrary) that he is a Republican or conservative, I wouldn't go nearly that far. Support Obama, absolutely he has. But fire on American citizens? No way.

I know the GOP has crafted their own budget bills, which have failed over and over; but I don't recall the GOP ever making a comprehensive healthcare bill like the one they unveiled last week. Before Obamacare, they offered a lot of suggestions and amendments, but I don't recall an actual bill being created. I could be wrong but I don't think so. I even stated a year or so ago that in order for the GOP to shed the image of being the "party of no," they need to start crafting their own bills and offering their own solutions; because for a long while they weren't. They were in fact just saying no.

Really? Well, how far will someone go pushing a Socialist agenda, without abandon, and pushing against someone like Ted Cruz who EMPHATICALLY lays his neck and reputation on the line to protect Americans and our Constitution. It just makes you wonder. I thought that is what the MILITARY is supposed to be doing - not pushing Socialism!

I'm sorry, PO, but I have to strongly disagree with your questioning if Jermyn would fire on citizens. As much as he and I disagree, at the end of the day, Jermyn is still a Christian; a Pentecostal who's been baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. You're claiming that not only would he ignore his national heritage, but that he would put aside his Christian convictions. I don't buy it. I don't care that he believes in Obamacare -- there are a lot of good people, well intentioned people, who believe in it.
