Officially A Great Day

The newest building among several on this 31.5 acres on Windmill Court in Houston Texas became officially opened this Sunday Morning, Aug 5th 2005 when the congregation of Life Tabernacle in Houston Texas moved from the church's gymn into its new 44,000 sq ft. beautiful sanctuary.

The presence of the Lord was greatly in attendance amid the more than 2000 worshipers. Pastor Jim preached the first service entitled, "Come In From The Outside." At the end, the mighty heavy presence of the Lord settled in. Sister Flo Shaw of Austin Texas gave a powerful tongue with the interpretation also. Several received the Holy Ghost in the first service.

Again tonight, Anthony Mangun preached a fantastic sermon entitled, "Some Thing That Cannot Be Measured." He poured his heart out. Another great service with many receiving the Holy Ghost and many others blessed.

Mickey Mangun sung two songs before Anthony preached. Bishop Kilgore spoke a moment and sung, "Here I'm bothered with packing so much of my life and I carry a load in each hand. But I'll need one thing when I move to that heavenly land. When I move to the sky, up in heaven so high. What a wonderful trip that will be. I'm already to go, washed in Calvary's flow. That will be the last move for me."

I was deeply moved by that old song. But my darling Pastor could quote the "Mary Had A Little Lamb" poem and I would cry like a baby. Then, if he would quote the Gettysburg Address, I would be in the altar under conviction. His spirit affects me that way.

After service Timothy Spell's sister (forgot her name just now) and Becky Fender and I stood around harmonized a little on "There's A Light Guiding Me." It was fun.

There were many men of God there of every Apostolic stripe. They were all recognized. There were the cons, ultra cons, the libs and the mods too. I was happy to see Jabbo Green who came to pay respects to his Pastor. I saw Steve and Becky Fender whom I've not seen in many years. There were many other preachers too. They were all recognized. I saw many friends that I'd not seen in a long time.

It was a glorious day... The Lord was present in a very wonderful way.

There was standing room only. There were probably more than 2500 people in the vast auditorium. I love those fold down, cushioned theater type seats. They are so comfortable.

I too wish that you could have been with us. I thought about you. You could have hung out with the whole family gang who came from all over for this great day.

This 31.5 acre campus is something to behold. I remember when we bought this prime piece of property...and what a miracle it was. Though it is some of the most desirable realestate in Houston, we bought it for a paltry $140,000.00.

We had to do something about our space in those days. On Sunday nights people came for services only to leave because there was no parking place. Others that were able to park could not find a place to sit once inside. The place was packed and jammed. A remedy had to be found. It is then that the Lord led us to that 31.5 acres. Building began. First the school and then the gym...Now, the beautiful new sanctuary. Man! You'd love the sound system and all the technology in that place. The lighting system is spectacular.

What an awesome move of God we had last night!

When Bro. Anthony Mangun began telling about his father and the things he shared with us, was amazing.

He told AM that the fires in the West Coast was or could be judgment of God that will be coming across America. I wish I could say this is the first time I have heard judgement is coming to America, but in fact I have heard it more than once.

Knowing this, I am amazed at the people that hear this do nothing to change their lives.

He went on to say you will either have your affection on the things of God or the things of the world.

It is time to make your choice where your affection will lie.

Again, it was a very powerful move of the Spirit.

I listened the CD of GAM on praying the Tabernacle Plan. It was very good. However, I will listen again, because if he said what I "thought" I heard him say, I would want to know how he came up with that information.
