Can a Religious Organization Be "A Weight"??

I know this may seem far-fetched, but somebody asked the Ole FRINGE_NUTTER this today. Can an Organization Be "A Weight"? I know if we went back to the original text, weight would not literally mean organization or UPCI. LOL.

Not sure if he meant as spoken of in Hebrews 12:1 OR maybe otherwise, meaning something that is not useful to the futherance of the cause of Jesus Christ. I did not have time to weigh in on this weighty matter. I am asking those here. What do you think?

Hebrews 12:1
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

I have witnessed the worst of the worst religious politics so I feel very strongly that man-made bureaucracies and hierarchies that promote cronyism are not of God. We need fellowship. We don't need religious politics.

If the organization is hindering or preventing you from doing the work God has called you to do, then it is a weight.

If the organization, meaning the men of God that make up the organization, are providing you with the fellowship and encouragement you need to do the work of God, then it's a blessing.

Yes.

The mindsets within that organization can be a heavy weight.

Of course I am not kidding you and it isn't a waste. This question asked of me today made me think about weights as opposed to sins. What's the difference?

Anything that hinders a soul from reaching their destiny, from doing the work the Lord has called them to do, that hinders spiritual growth, is a weight that needs to be laid aside.

Thank the responses. Ideally, an organization most certainly should not be a weight - but it is possible.

My past experience leads me to believe they are more than a weight, they are of Satan.
