How Do You React?

I was just thinking tonight about how we act/react when confronted.
When someone confronts you either online or in the store, street, work, etc; do you either "fight" or "walk away" for the sake of peace.

Re: How Do You React?

Well, its funny you mention that. I was just taking to someone last night at church and we were discussing the fact that online, you would (perhaps) say things and post things that you wouldn't normally say should you be standing in front that same person. You don't have the same fear of rebuttal as you would in person.

As far as whether to confront or walk, my decision is based on two elements:

1. Is what I am about to embark on worth it? Do I make a scene over the 2 cents the cashier just shorted me? Or is the standard of holiness something I believe in enough to fight for? These are just examples.

2. Will the stand be fruitful? Will the little bumps and bruises I take, still make the effort worthwhile? Will the "cause" be defended by my actions or will the effort cause more harm than good? In other words, is there the possibility my confronter will see the error of his ways or will my stand just be continually head butting a brick wall?

Re: How Do You React?

I do not like confrontation. My husband does not mind it at all, if it's for a good reason. He never lets things "stew" at church or at home; he faces them down and nips it in the bud. Sometimes I wish I could be more like that.

My wife is just the opposite, she confronts me all the time. Errm....I mean she is confrontational.....wait....thats not what I meant at all.

Can't vote.

I have no desire for things to get heated, but If they do I will try to find a third way...

Re: How Do You React?

I can't vote....my 3rd choice would be "I can HANDLE confrontation when I decide to pick my battles". But I don't enjoy them and actually like getting along with others.

I can't vote either...I think that was what I was trying to say earlier wasn't it?

Re: How Do You React?

I think as usual forum polls have limited choices. Some things are worth taking a stand on. I will defend my family, and most definetly my Lord.
